Communiqué de presse commun signé par 57 organisations européennes et internationales appelant les Membres du Parlement européen à rejeter ACTA et, au-delà, à engager une réforme positive du droit d’auteur et des brevets.
ACTA menace les libertés fondamentales en ligne, la neutralité du Net, l’innovation, l’accès et le partage des technologies libres, de la culture, des médicaments génériques et des semences.
Le mercredi 4 juillet, le Parlement européen aura une occasion historique de rejeter l’ACTA dans son ensemble, de l’enterrer politiquement une fois pour toutes.
Les membres du Parlement européen de tous les groupes politiques doivent suivre les recommandations des cinq commissions parlementaires qui ont toutes invité à rejeter l’ACTA.
Un rejet définitif de l’ACTA constituerait une formidable victoire pour les citoyens du monde entier, ainsi que pour la démocratie et citoyenneté européenne.
Un tel vote doit également retentir comme un signal d’alarme pour les décideurs politiques à travers l’Europe, les incitant à rompre avec un cycle sans fin de politiques répressives. Il est temps de réformer les régimes de droit d’auteur et des brevets en faveur des citoyens et des contributeurs à la culture et à l’innovation.
L’accès et le partage des connaissances et de la culture sont essentiels pour la construction de sociétés ouvertes et démocratiques. Nous demandons aux législateurs européens de regarder au-delà du rejet de l’ACTA et de travailler à un nouveau cadre juridique qui nourrirait nos pratiques plutôt que les détruire, un cadre juridique adapté à l’ère numérique.
